Join us for this three-hour virtual workshop (or Vorkshop, as we like to call it) "roll up your sleeves" training experience on Title 24, Part 6 essentials for residential envelope and solar systems.
This highly interactive, three-hour Vorkshop gives participants a chance to work individually and in teams to do a deep dive on key residential envelope features in the context of Title 24, Part 6 compliance, and client goals and preferences. Participants have an opportunity to weigh the pros and cons of alternative approaches to achieving energy efficiency and meeting the code, selecting the approach that makes best sense to them given the project parameters.
Specific topics explored include high-performance attics and walls, calculation of external shading from overhangs and side fins on fenestration, and location and calculation of a compliant solar-ready area for a low-rise multifamily project.
This Vorkshop is an intermediate to advanced course. We strongly recommend you have the following before attending this session:

ASSE 5110 Backflow Tester - 40 Hour Class and Exam
At this forty (40) hour training class, participants will be presented with the guidelines used for acceptable practices of testing backflow prevention assemblies. The participants will also learn the principles of cross-connection control and the methods devices, and assemblies used to protect the potable water system. The training and knowledge provided will prepare the student for the jurisdiction's recognized examination. BPI has designed this comprehensive training to provide the necessary skills to confidentially take the exam of AWWA, ABPA, ABC, ASSE and many others. On the final day of the training, the ASSE 5110 tester certification examination will be administered. The written exam for an initial tester certification consists of 100 questions. Presently, the initial certification candidate must demonstrate the field test procedure for a reduced pressure principle assembly, double check valve assembly, pressure vacuum breaker assembly, and spill-resistant vacuum breaker assembly.

ASSE 5110 Cross Connection Control Recertification - 8 Hour Course and Exam
At this eight (8) hour training, participants will review the guidelines used for acceptable practices of testing backflow prevention devices. The participants will receive the information and skills to help them pass the American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) Recertification Examination. At the end of the training the re-certification examination will be administered. This consists of a written and a hands-on examination. This training is mandatory in order for the tester to re-certify under ASSE general guidelines. The exam for the re-certification consists of 25 questions. Presently, the re-certification candidate must demonstrate the field test procedure for a reduced pressure principle assembly, double check valve assembly, pressure vacuum breaker assembly, and spill-resistant vacuum breaker assembly without notes or assistance.

Each course includes an American Society of Sanitary Engineering certification exam at the conclusion of the training. These ASSE certifications are based on the ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 5000 Professional Qualification Standard which is the adopted standard in all three recognized model plumbing codes used in the United States, including the Uniform Plumbing Code.
